About SolarRoost

SolarRoost is an independent educational publisher covering residential rooftop solar cost and payback. It builds its planning examples from National Renewable Energy Laboratory cost benchmarks and production modelling, U.S. Energy Information Administration electricity prices, the DSIRE incentive database, and published utility rules.

Every figure on this site traces to a named public source with a check date shown on the page. Where a number is an example or a planning estimate, the page says so in plain language. We would rather show a range with its limits than a precise number we cannot defend.

How publishing works here

• A named source is captured first. No source, no page.
• Figures are rechecked on the cadence described in our methodology.
• Corrections are logged and dated. If we get a number wrong, we fix the page and note the change.
• Content is written in an editorial voice. We do not publish fake author profiles, invented credentials, ratings, reviews, or testimonials.
